Handpick a pearl!
A truly unique experience in the heart of Cornwall is our Pick-a-Pearl, where you get to handpick an oyster from our oyster pool and discover the hidden gem within. Watch as we grade your pearl, after which you can choose a setting to create a piece of jewellery you can wear again and again. A lovely treat for mum!
Step back in time
Our huge free interactive exhibition is where Cornwall’s rich milling history is brought to life. Discover ingenious machinery, historical artefacts, interactive displays, the history of tin, the people of Tolgus and so much more. Plus, kids can be entertained and dress up as a Bal Maiden or Tin Miller in our fun, new dress-up area.

Step inside our large café, where dogs are welcome, and relax as you reflect on the history which surrounds you. We offer gluten-free and vegetarian options, traditional Cornish cream tea, cooked breakfasts, homemade lunches and a children’s menu. Plus, on Mother’s Day weekend mums get a free drink on us with their meal!

A great treat for all budgets, our made-to-measure station is where you can choose from a selection of different chains to be made into a necklace, bracelet or ankle chain while you wait!
Enjoy a sandy beach walk
Porthtowan is a beautiful family-friendly beach a short drive from us. It’s our favourite place for a refreshing walk with the chance of spotting seals or dolphins, or even a basking shark! Plus, you can stop off at our award-winning Pantry on the way there, or back, for a spot of homemade lunch!

Just around the corner from Cornwall Gold are the beautiful Tehidy Woods. With over 9 miles of paths and 250 acres of peaceful woods, waterfalls and lakes, home to swans and lots of wildlife, to explore – it’s a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the great outdoors. Find out more here.
