Make the most of the May half term with a visit to us at Cornwall Gold where there are plenty of activities to enjoy come rain or shine. To celebrate the imminent arrival of summer and a week of family time ahead, we’ve cherry-picked our favourite things to do with us at Cornwall Gold this May half-term…

Take a Break From the Beach

We love the beach as much as the next person but sometimes you want to do something a little different. Our free 10,000ft interactive exhibition does just that! Learn all about Cornwall’s rich milling history, see ingenious machinery and historical artefacts, get interactive, discover the history of tin, the people of Tolgus and more!

Bring the Whole Family and the Dog!

Our award-winning café is huge and has plenty of space inside and out! We are dog-friendly throughout and have a delicious kid’s menu. So, whether you fancy a coffee and cake or a homemade lunch, we are the place to head no matter how big or small your group is.

See our menu here.

Get Creative!

Budding artists will love getting involved in the Create & Paint Pottery studio on our site. Pottery painting is fun for all the family, young and old alike. Call 01209 901675 for prices and to book your slot.

Step Inside an Ancient Tin Mill

Go back in time and let little ones imagine what life would have been like working in a tin mill in the heart of Cornwall over 150 years ago. Discover the process of tin streaming from crushing and separating to purifying and smelting all in the Tolgus Mill, the last of its kind in Europe!

Relax With Our Spring Activity Sheet

Our new spring activity sheet is now available in our café and it’s the perfect chance to let little ones take a breather with a word search, colouring in and more! All while you can put your feet up and enjoy a coffee and cake!

Discover Hidden Gems

See what treasures and gems you can uncover in our Panning for Gold station where you can sift sand with a traditional gold pan. This free activity is great for all ages and undercover.

Take a Family-Friendly Walk

The Tolgus Trail can start (or end) at Cornwall Gold and is a 2.2-mile flat, off-road walk that will take you along farmland down to the beautiful village of Portreath. Perfect for a sunny day.

Why not park for free at Cornwall Gold, enjoy the walk there and back and end your time with a cream tea in the Cornish Pantry? It’s certainly one way to tire out the kids!

Want a £5 jewellery voucher? Then book your free visit (link) ahead of time and we will send you a code to spend in our showroom.
