Enjoy a Mother’s Day mini photo session
Join us on Saturday, the 14th of March for a special Mother’s Day photo session, running from 10am until 4pm. Local photographer Sadie Jill will be here to capture the special moments with stunning photographs you won’t get anywhere else.
Perfect for creating a beautiful keepsake with Mum, or someone special, each session costs £10 and includes the shoot plus one digital image. Additional images can be purchased afterwards.

Handpick a pearl!
A truly unique experience in the heart of Cornwall is our Pick-a-Pearl, where you get to handpick an oyster from our oyster pool and discover the hidden gem within. Watch as we grade your pearl, after which you can choose a setting to create a piece of jewellery you can wear again and again. A lovely treat for mum!
Step back in time
Our huge free interactive exhibition is where Cornwall’s rich milling history is brought to life. Discover ingenious machinery, historical artefacts, interactive displays, the history of tin, the people of Tolgus and so much more. Plus, kids can be entertained and dress up as a Bal Maiden or Tin Miller in our fun, new dress-up area.

Porthtowan is a beautiful family-friendly beach a short drive from us. It’s our favourite place for a refreshing walk with the chance of spotting seals or dolphins, or even a basking shark! Plus, you can stop off at our award-winning Pantry on the way there, or back, for a spot of homemade lunch!
