Nestled in the beautiful Cornish countryside near Redruth, our free-to-enter heritage attraction is packed with new experiences, hands-on fun, and free activities for the whole family. Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been before, there’s always something new to discover. Here are our top things to do at Cornwall Gold this summer.
Panning for gold
Sift through sand using traditional gold pans to uncover hidden gems and sparkling surprises. It’s exciting, a little bit messy, and perfect for all ages – plus it’s all undercover, so you can enjoy it rain or shine! See more here.
Explore the Tolgus Tin Mill
There’s a brand new route that will guide you through the historic Grade II Listed Tolgus Mill, enabling everyone to explore the last tin streaming mill in Europe. There are also free guided tours running which really help to bring the mill alive. Check out our social media pages to find out more.
Learn about Cornish history
Spread across 10,000 square feet, our exhibition brings history to life with untold stories, rare footage, hands-on displays and so much more. It’s a fun and fascinating way to explore Cornwall’s unique past.
Dress up as a tin miller
In our Tolgus Exhibition, kids (and grown-ups!) can have fun at the dress-up station – try on traditional tin miller or bal maiden outfits, snap some great photos, and imagine life working in Cornwall’s last tin mill.Tag us in your photos @cornwallgoldoffical
Walk the Tolgus Trail
Looking for a scenic summer walk? Start at Cornwall Gold and follow the Tolgus Trail 2.2 mile to Portreath beach. It’s a flat, off road walk everyone can enjoy. See more here.
